My biggest mistake in exercising has been to "overdo" it. I’m a believer in the phrase "no pain, no gain", but sometimes too much pain ISN’T good. My recommendations are to get serious about your exercise, or just don’t do it. And secondly, IF you’re serious about your exercise, DO understand the necessity for rest and relaxation. I know this is very old information, but some advice is never TOO old. I was told this for years but never really accepted it until one day, as I was doing a 100 mile bike ride, I began developing asthma. As I continued to pedal fiercely, I was able to breathe okay, but once I stopped, my breathing capacity was no more than 10% of what I desperately needed. At mile 92, I called my wife and asked her to come pick me up, and as we passed by our town’s hospital, I gave serious thought to going to the Emergency Room, but I was afraid of what they might do that might further, unknowingly, restrict my breathing. So, I said nothing and we went on home. I survived that episode, but I assure you, it was a close call, and my doctor told me later that week something that I didn’t know, which was that asthma can be exercise-induced. So, moderation is necessary in exercise as well as in other aspects of life. God Bless you.
I’m sorry that I didn’t read that this was in the Women’s Health section. I just read your question and answered it. Again, I apologize.
