David asks…
Do women care that much about legs on a guy?
Is the look and strength of a guy’s upper body much more important to women?
I am not a gym rat but I am guilty of being one of those guys those really only worked with weights on the upper body. Until recently I did very little weight training on the legs. I thought I was getting enough with sports and jogging. My GF admits to being really attracted to my upper torso and doesn’t care that my legs are not muscular. In fact she tells me legs are not important on a guy.
She and her friend have worked hard on their legs for years (squats, running etc) and both have stronger and more muscular legs than me. For example my GF can do more than 5 one legged (deep to her heels) squats while I can’t do one (her upper body weighs much less and I can’t stay on balance). She can squat 40 pounds more than me. Both girls are proud of the fact that their legs are stronger than the BF’s. They seem to get a high on beating me in a leg wrestle. I am fine with that because my upper body is three times stronger than theirs. They are just proud of their legs. I don’t get the sense they are doing it to mock me. If so, I would train to beat them.
Here is what I am trying to understand. She and her work out buddy say that having stronger legs than a guy with a ripped upper body is more gratifying to them than beating a guy with an average upper body. They both rather leg wrestle me then her buddy’s average built boyfriend.
Why would having stronger legs than a guy with a built upper body be more gratifying to these or maybe most women?
My GF has said to me that its even a bit of a turn on. Maybe that’s why?
They both think that arms, chest and shoulders are what matter on a guy and legs are not so important.
Is this true for most women?
Is the look and strength of a guy’s upper body much more important to women?
Do some girls prefer a guy with a more balance upper and lower body?
I know for me I like the entire body (nice legs, curvy, slim upper torso) on women.
I find working on legs exhausting and don’t have that much time to work out. If my GF likes my body the way it is I would rather spend most of my work out time on my upper body and do just enough leg training for healthy joints.

admin answers:
Men legs do not matter to most women, chest and arms is what I find attractive. They are teasing you about their leg strength, because most women carry their power in their legs, Men are stronger in the upper body, women are stronger in the legs.

Women and Guns
The revolution that was fought for the country’s independence and the people’s freedom produced what is now known as the Constitution. This consists of amendments that outline individual rights. The freedom of choice, to be able to choose the religion one wishes to practice freely, freedom of speech such as expression and press. Under the second amendment it is expressed that an individual has the right to keep and bear arms. Given this freedom a person has the right to own a firearm weapon for their protection or to protect their family.
Mothers who are single parents have the right to protect themselves and their children from crime. There is not a day that one does not read in the newspaper of woman being raped because they were unable to defend themselves. Or the women who are attacked while walking back to their cars late at night and the innocent families who are taken hostage and murdered in their own homes. These are many incidents that police officers can’t always respond on time to prevent such tragedies. Why should women rely on their local police department when they are better off depending on themselves and their handgun.
Women have been raised to believe guns are dangerous and they grow up with the fear yet their knowledge on guns is minimal. I agree guns are dangerous if they fall into the wrong hands. But with the proper training and knowledge how to be responsible while handling guns, it will reduce risk factors associated with firearms. For those who are single mothers, children are drawn to things they know they are not supposed to touch. Single mothers who keep firearms in their homes should keep the guns locked and unloaded. The ammunition should also be locked in a separate location.
Guns are like tools, and tools are helpful if you know how to use them. Women benefit when owning a handgun because it gives them the sense of independence. Women who are able to defend themselves and love ones feel more at ease. Of course to protect their children is part of natural mother instinct. For women, the privilege to own a firearm is based on the right to self defense under the second amendment and to own a gun with a permit has given women strength to carry on with their day with confidence and security. Women who no longer need to depende on police departments because if she going to have something done she might as well rely on her self to get the job done.

CHANGE TO:
Women will no longer need to rely on police departments if she is assaulted. He can depend upon her own-self for protection.
I also added a couple of commas and a dash or two before the word ‘self’.
I hope this helps.

Rachel asks…
veterans do you want to work in Australia and stay in uniform?
With the Iraq War officially over and the Army downsizing in the face of defense budget pressure, more troops will be making the transition back to civilian life — a potentially challenging prospect given the state of the economy.
But for those who want to stay in uniform, there may be a new option emerging — just not an American one. Australia has put out the “Help Wanted” sign for foreign national veterans.
“We are looking for serving or ex-serving foreign military personnel, who can directly transfer their job and life skills to whichever Service they join, with limited training and preparation,” the Australian Defence Force has announced on its website.
Jobs to be filled include special forces types, intelligence officers and submariners, according to the announcement, but the separate recruitment pages for each service branch show that the Aussies will consider veterans with a broad range of military experience.
As the U.S. tightens its defense belt slightly over the next year, the Army and Marine Corps will cut end strength by thousands of men and women. The Army expects to lose about 7,400 Soldiers by October, to reach an end strength of 562,000.
I would as well tribune

admin answers:
This is a very interesting proposition. I believe that many able-bodied veterans would definitely consider this. There is an abysmal number of veterans that actually use their G.I. Bill and go straight into job seeking. If I wasn’t married and partially disabled, I would definitely try this out.
Many armed forces personnel would love to travel to places that aren’t a desert, they kind of get the idea while they’re enlisting that they will travel the world, and it usually just means to a few different U.S. States for training, then a permanent station that they deploy from for their enlistment, and then they get to the end of their contract and get out if they are injured or not satisfied with their outlook over the next 16+ years towards their retirement.
Not only would this be a great personal experience, it would be quite the one-upper if a veteran would like to go into state or federal government on the security side (police force/FBI/Etc.) since it looks like it doesn’t look like there are more requirements beyond, say, an honorable discharge from the U.S. Armed forces.
Good for them, it is good to see the training will pay off in multiple ways for our veterans.

John asks…
Are there some women who can beat men in the martial arts?
If so, what kind of training will she need in order to beat him, and truly get up to one of the elites of fighters. I’m talking about in self-defense, and other combat situations, not necessarily in sporting competition. I believe a girl must not only fight hard, but fight smarter and use only her advantages such as quickness, and agility, and attack speed to offset the raw speed and strength advantages the guys naturally have.
I also think to truly prepare for a police career, SWAT, or other police combat arms such as detectives and patrol cops, she would have to train with and spar against men and women. What do you think. I’d like a perspective from females with positive experience.

admin answers:
What kind of question is “can SOME women beat men in martial arts?”
of course! A world class female muay thai striker or brazilian jiu jitsu expert could easily dispatch of… For example.. You. Especially in jiu jitsu, where strength isn’t a factor and it all comes down to technique.

Assume Chyna has trained back to her 2000 strength levels:?
Assuming she returns to the WWE what would be the best angle for her return:
1. A match against Beth Phoenix to see who is the most dominant diva in history?
2. A grudge match against Trish Stratus as to who was the greater woman’s champion and Trish has been insulting Chyna?
3. A “DX” mini-reunion to assist Shawn Michaels against common foe Chris Jericho who beat Chyna for the IC belt years ago?
4. Your the booker, tell me!

Chyna always wins

Lisa asks…
In WWE, do you think the women should wrestle the men?
By this i dont mean superstars like the great khali vs torrie or triple h vs krystal. Im not talking the real real mismatch type matches but the ones where yoy may think it was more okay for an intergender bout. say for instance victoria vs carlito or jazz vs steven richards? I know the divisions are separate but i was just thinking, i believe the women are stronger than they look. By this i mean i saw a Tough Enough years ago and there was this girl called Taylor and in training she scoop slammed al snow and slammed him, making me realise these women may look dainty and be divas but they can seriously kick ass also. I also once saw a picture where Maria was holding a US soldier in a bodyslam position. You look at Maria and you think dainty and pretty but she must have decent strength also inside her. As i said, major mismatches aside, do the women of WWE deserve, if they wanted it, to wrestle the guys they could be matched against in competitive action?

admin answers:
I don’t think the girls should meet with the guys… I mean didn’t you see the match between UMAGA and some Diva…i don’t remember who it was…but anyway Umaga smashed into her and she was unconcious for the whole time…until John Cena had to go into the ring and scare off Umaga…..i think it would be too much….to let the guys get their way with the divas….i mean a guy like Randy Orton just picking up somebody and crashing them could be fatal…no matter how much that would be entertainment..i think it would be brutal…and besides..the strength a man has is much higher than a womans’….who knowsyou might just see more of it on the tele…that’s wrestling for you…

Lynn asks…
What do you think of this? I wrote this when I went back to college at age 47.?
Intimate Enemies
The year was 1972; I had just made the transition from the relatively peaceful surroundings of elementary school to the utter chaos of junior high. As I entered the great walls of the “Alamo” (Bountiful Jr. High School was in a building older than dirt with a frontal arcade that resembled the infamous old structure in Texas) hence it’s nickname. I was immediately immersed in a scene that I will never forget, it reminded of the anthills we used to poke with sticks when we were still kids. For you see I was now all grown up and felt like the “King of the World”. As I stood at the top of the steps of my new “Kingdom” watching the mass of pubescent insanity scurrying about I knew that I had just entered a strange and exciting new world where I would be “King”.
Filled with the bravado of a kid that suddenly new he had become a man I strutted down the hallway to take it all in. As I rounded a corner of the hallway my “King of the World” ideas were soon shattered. I found myself face to face with half a dozen ninth graders who surrounded me and pinned me against the wall (I later found out they had set this up earlier because they were all “jocks” and had heard of how good an athlete I was and wanted to set me straight about who was really the big guns of the school) anyway I guess it was a custom for the ninth graders to make new seventh graders push pennies down the hallway with their noses. As they were trying to force me to my knees I was filled with more anger and aggression than I though possible, I knew if I let this happen I would be harassed forever. With a newfound strength I broke free and told them no way was this going to happen, the biggest of the bunch started pressing back and said “Yes it is and you can’t stop us” He had just barely got the words out when my fist collided with his nose breaking it and knocking him on his ass! The others stood there with their mouths hanging open not believing what had just happened, I just looked at them and yelled “Who’s next?” they all just stood there with dumb looks on their faces as I turned and walked away trying my hardest not to run because I was still scared to death, but I managed to keep on walking as if nothing had happened. They never screwed with me again, maybe I would be King.
Looking back on this there is not much about what happened that I don’t understand now that I didn’t then, if I would not have stood up for myself I would have taken their “Shit” for the next three years. As it turned out I became the starting quarterback on the football team and actually became very good friends with these guys.
Maybe this is something little girls (and women could learn from men) for you see while men might deal with things with physical aggression we also are quick to shake and make up. Women are more mental in their aggressions they can become very cold and devious when dealing with other women, these little girls are just training to be women. Women carry grudges forever, while men are quick to forgive and forget. Hell women can and will remember some small thing that happened years ago and bring it up to bust your ass as whenever she wants to, while most men forget what they had for breakfast by lunchtime.

admin answers:
The essay is interesting — a lesson on what to do when first bullied. (Nip it in the bud.)
As for the diatribe about women and grudges, I think you’re painting an unflattering picture using a rather broad brush. (Not all women are so spiteful and petty; there are many who aren’t that way. In fact, I know of men (heterosexuals even!) who are just as unforgiving for even the smallest transgression.) It’s not necessarily about gender but more about an individual’s maturity and willingness to forgive.

Charlie asks…
Are there individual women around the world who can handle combat very well?
I believe so. A normal woman wouldn’t be able to handle this kind of stuff due to lack of muscle, and bone density like a normal man would. But to say that there is no such thing as a woman who can make a good combat soldier is ridiculous. I’ve read about them all the time, and their stories are interesting. Most girls can’t really handle, but neither can some of our guys out there, but in the past been sent to war anyway. I’m not speaking of just American women, also of military women around the world. Our government deals with averages which is why female are officially allowed in battle zones, and they make good points. The differences between men and women on average is quite obvious. I think the women who fight well deserve honor and respect. I’ll bet you that the woman who CAN handle the physical and mental stress of combat have been born well built genetically, and did a lot of training to improve their strength, and calcium intake to improve their bone density. I’m just saying there are those who can do it despite their physiology. I think they should be allowed to fight for our country, but NOT because they’re women-that’s political correctness. Only the women who can pass the physical, and mental tests, and standards as the men should be allowed to go out and fight. But I also think it’s wrong to force a woman to go to a battlezone if she does not want to.
The women in my opinion who are pregnant, or have children shouldn’t be in combat, or if they of course meet the same standards, which some can, but most obviously can’t.

admin answers:
Here’s my 2 cents worth:
I believe anyone should be able to do whatever they want to do AND are qualified to do. If a woman wants to go into combat, she should be expected to pass all the same drills with the same aptitude as her male counterparts, not a graded-down level of the same tasks. If the men need to run the 40 meter in 15 seconds, so should she, not in 20 seconds because she’s a woman. If the men need to do 200 push-ups, so should she. It isn’t that she can’t, unless she has asthma or something that would prevent her from being able to achieve these levels, and if that is the case, then she is not qualified. I would not be qualified to play in the NBA. Not because I am beyond disciplining myself and practicing and working at it very hard until I can try out for a team, but because by nature, I am 5’5″ tall, and 200 lbs. I could fix the 200 lbs with exercise, but the 5’5″ is never going to change. I could develop my high jump until I was able to dunk a ball, but my desire isn’t there. So I have pursued other careers that I am better suited for.
It isn’t fair to lump all women or all men into one category. Not all dancers are women, and not all lumberjacks are men. Some women are more like men, and some men are more like women. There’s nothing wrong with that, but for some dainty little princess to come off the dance floor and step from her ballet shoes into her combat boots and demand that the warriors of the world treat her special because she’s a little princess is a really bad idea, just like a hairy lumberjack with a beer belly shouldn’t stomp into Chippendale’s with all the sexual appeal of 30 grit sandpaper and demand that he be allowed to perform and that all the clients get turned on by him.
I hope you understand my stance. If a woman wants to fight in combat, she needs to be a killer, not a ballerina.

Steve asks…
What do women see in the Military?
Were I came from the Military is a mans thing and women don’t even think about it but on this I see alot of women trying to join… From what I have read, here in the U.K the training is easier on the female why is this? If you make the trainhing easier for the females then you are just making weaker soldiers that won’t perform as well as the men
Training
Male:
Push ups: 60 in 2 mins
15 pull ups
60 sit ups in 2 mins
Female:
25 push ups in 2 mins
40 sit ups in 2 mins
pull ups: They don’t need to do a single one they get points for how long they can hang
See how different it is? and I was talking to a recruiter in my school and he laughs when I ask him about females in the Army and he says females aren’t allowed to fight in the Infantry because of there bone structure, strength ect and then I Google about women in the Army and it says something like 80% of female recruits break down crying after being yelled at or took on the firing range.
This to me sounds pathetic.
Women what do you see in the Military? If you join at least try to do as much as the men otherwise they are always going to be superior to you. I’m not sexist at all I just see no need for letting in weaker soldiers.
quirk: It odesn’t take alot of strength to pull a trigger but what would you do If you ran into a guy like me on the other side who weighs 210 pounds and fitter than you. You would be in some trouble
I don’t weigh 210 punds by the way I’m 180 but just making an example
lyn p: No no no women do not shoot faster men actually have better hand eye co ordination because we are made for tough hands on work
But alls I’m saying is I’d feel sorry for the girl who ran into close quarter combat with me

admin answers:
Women and Men are biologically different. That is why the standards are different. Men are not automatically superior though. There are plenty of women in the military that easily reach or surpass male standards. Many women do try to do as much as men. The other thing is that most women are not fighting to be infantry. They are happy with their jobs as mechanics, or desk warriors, or air crew. In the US military women are not allowed to hold positions where there is a high risk of face to face contact with the enemy.
USAF push ups requirement is 33 for males vs 18 for females in 1 minute. Sit ups are 42 male, 38 female in 1 minute. 13:36 Male, 16:22 Female 1.5 mile run time. And 39″ Male, 35.5″ Female waist measurement. That’s not as big of a difference as the numbers for the branch you quoted. US Marine Corps PFT standards are the same male/female for crunches. And the passing 3 mile time only has a 3 minute difference. Plus a lot of the training is the same. USAF and USMC train all their officers together male and female. They are required to complete the same tasks. It’s only the PFT that is different which honestly does not do a good job of measuring effectiveness in combat anyway.
Not to mention apparently most male US Marines cannot do a 70 second flexed arm hang like many female Marines can. Men and women have different body structures. I guess in some cases men are just inferior to women.
